טנק קל מתוצרת ארצות הברית בתחילת שנת ה-40. דגם זה החליף את ייצור הסטיוארט M3A1 והינו שונה בעיקר בצריח. הכלי סופק במסגרת הסכמי ’החכר והשאל’ לצבא ברית המועצות וצבא בריטניה ולקח חלק בחזית המערבית והמזרחית באיחפה, בצפון אפריקה ובדרום מזרח אסיה. כ-9000 יחידות מסוג זה יוצר בשני דגמים M5 ו- M5A1 הנבדלים בעיקר במבנה הצריח.

This is an American-made light tank from the early 1940’s. This model replaced the manufacturing of the Stuart M3A1, and is different from it mainly in its turret. The vehicle was supplied to the Soviet army and to the British army, under the Lend-Lease agreement. It played a part in Europe’s Western and Eastern Fronts, In North Africa and in Southeast Asia. Approximately 9000 such units were produced in two models: the M5 and the M5A1, which mostly differ in the turret structure.
