טנק חי"ר קל מתוצרת בריטניה במהלך מלחמת העולם השנייה. השתתף בקרבות בחזית המערבית ובצפון אפריקה במלחמה כנגד השריון הגרמני כ-1000 טנקים מסוג זה הועבר לצבא הסובייטי ולקחו חלק בקרבות על העיר מוסקבה. מספר טנקי מטילדה שנלקחו שלל שימשו גם את הצבא הגרמני בצפון אפריקה. כ-3000 טנקי מטילדה בלבד מדגמים שונים יוצרו בבריטניה. המטילדה היה הטנק הבריטי היחידי אשר שירת מתחילת מלחמת העולם השנייה ועד סיומה.

This light infantry tank was developed in Great Britain during World War II. It participated in the battles of the Western Front and against the German infantry, in North Africa. Some 1000 of these tanks were supplied to the Soviet army and took part in the Battle of Moscow. A few captured Matilda tanks were also used by the German army in North Africa. Only some 3000 Matilda tanks, of different models, were manufactured in Great Britain. The Matilda was the only British tank that was in service from the beginning of WWII to its end.
