Samuel Barkai - born in Novorossiysk, Russia (1898-1975), immigrated to Israel in 1920. After studying architecture in Paris in 1933, he designed buildings in Cyprus. In 1934 he returned to Israel and began designing buildings in the modern style.
Among the well-known buildings he designed: Sharon cinema in Netanya, Beit Hashiryon in Tel Aviv.
