Born in Omsk, Russia (1903-1989), immigrated to Israel in 1928. Before immigrating to Israel, he studied architecture and completed his studies in Israel at the Technion in Haifa. He opened an architectural office with Mordechai Givony and together they designed many houses in the Haifa and Karyot areas. After the War of Independence, he served in the Engineering Corps, where he developed many weapons and inventions. He is best known for the Roller Bridge, which was used in the Yom Kippur War to cross the Suez Canal. He reached the rank of brigadier general in the army and won three Israel Defense Forces awards. He was the oldest soldier in the world.
