The grove is named after the sergeants of the British army who were abducted by the Irgun and hanged in this grove in retaliation for the execution of Irgun members Avshalom Habib, Yaakov Weiss and Meir Nakar in July 1947.

In the grove, forest trees are planted alongside a high concentration of protected wild plants and endangered plant species. The unique species composition, which reaches its peak in spring, is not represented in the nature reserves in the Sharon and is worthy of protection due to its regional and national importance.
