"בית החולים הזה נוסד עוד בשנת תרי"ד בפנים העיר, ובעת האחרונה כאשר התרבו מספר היושבים מחוץ לעיר הואילו שרי בית רוטשילד לבנות בית חולים חדש ברוב פאר והדר בשנת תרמ"ח - 1888.
... ולראשונה נזכיר בשם את כל המסדים, מפעלי החסד והצדקות שכוננה משפחת רוטשילד ... ואלה הם: א. בית החולים; ב. תמיכת יולדות; ג. בית ספר למלאכה; ד. לחם לעניים; ה. גמילות חסד; ו. בית ספר לבנות; ז. בתי מחסה לעניים; ח. בית למוד חטוב ופסול; ט. נדבות זמניות; י. המושבות"

Meir Rothschild Hospital, 1854
"This hospital was founded in 1854 in Jerusalem’s Old City, and as the population has grown, recently moved to outside the city walls. where a magnificent new building was erected in 1888. Let us for the first time list all the charitable establishments and activities instituted by the Rothschild family: 1. Hospitals 2. Support for mothers giving birth 3. Crafts school 4. Bread for the poor 5. Charity 6. Girls’ school 7. Almshouses 8. School for carving and sculpture 9. Temporary donations 10. The moshavot rural settlements."

הנרייטה סולד, תר"כ - תש"ה
הנרייטה סולד הייתה מהענקים שהביאו להקמתה של מדינת ישראל: סופרת ונשיאתו הראשונה של ארגון הדסה בארה"ב, מייסדת בית הספר לאחיות ובית החולים הדסה.
היא הניחה היסודות להקמת מסגרות קליטה בקיבוצים, בכפרי נוער ובמוסדות לילדים, ולגישה האישית ההומאנית לילדים שעברו את הטראומות הקשות ביותר. היא יצרה מסגרות ושיטות חינוכיות שהתאימו למגוון הילדים יוצאי 70 ארצות, שזכו לשיקום חינוכי, מקצועי ונפשי. מפעלה היה למופת בעולם כולו.

Henrietta Szold, 1860 1945
"This hospital was Henrietta Szold was one of the giants whose efforts led to the establishment of the State of Israel. She was a writer and the first president of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, the founder of the School of Nursing and Hadassah Hospital.
Her efforts led to kibbutzim, youth villages and children’s homes taking in young immigrants, as well as an enlightened approach to profoundly traumatized children. She introduced educational settings and methods to provide educational, vocational and psychological rehabilitation for children from 70 different countries. Her achievements are admired worldwide.
