מגרשי המשחקים גוגנהיימר - הדסה, תרפ"ה-תש"ח
מגרשי המשחקים בירושלים היו מקום מפגש תרבותי, חינוכי וחברתי. המדריכים, צעירים וצעירות משכונות העיר.
"בחודש מאי בשנת 1944 החלטנו להתחתן. התקופה היתה תקופת הצנע... אבא של מלכה קנה או השיג בדרך לא ברורה שק תפוזים. בבוקר כל בנות המשפחה סחטו תפוזים והכינו עוגות משק קמח וביצים שקיבלו מדב יוסף... החתונה נערכה בצריף של מגרש המשחקים, שהיה מרווח ופנוי. היו שניגנו במפוחית פה והאורחים רקדו. היתה חתונה שמחה ואחריה דיברו הרבה על מיץ התפוזים..."

Guggenheimer playgrounds - Hadassah, 1925-1948
Jerusalem’s playgrounds provided the city’s girls and boys with a setting for cultural, educational and social encounters.
"In May 1944, during the austerity period, we decided to get married. Everything was in short supply. Malka’s father somehow managed to lay his hands on a sack of oranges. The daughters spent the morning squeezing them and made cakes from a bag of flour and eggs that we got from the Jewish Agency’s Dov Joseph... The wedding took place in the playground’s spacious hut. There was a harmonica and dancing. It was a very happy occasion and long afterwards people spoke of the orange juice..."

בדרך אל ההר...
עשור לאחר חנוכת בית החולים רוטשילד-הדסה על הר הצופים, פרצו מאורעות והחלה מלחמת השחרור. אל ההר המנותק מהעיר המערבית הובילו שיירות אספקה, צוותי רפואה וחולים. בחודש אפריל 1948 הותקפה השיירה ו-78 מאנשי צוות עובדי בית החולים נרצחו. השיירות פסקו מלצאת לדרך ובמאי 1948 ננטש בית החולים. בשנת 1967, עם תום מלחמת ששת הימים, שבו אל ההר ואל בית החולים..

On the way to Mount Scopus...
A decade after the dedication of the Rothschild-Hadassah hospital on Mount Scopus, saw the outbreak of bloody clashes and the War of Independence. Cut off from western Jerusalem, the hospital was reached by convoys bringing supplies, medical teams and patients. In April 1948 the convoy was attacked and 78 hospital personnel were murdered. No more convoys were organized, and the hospital was abandoned in May 1948. With the end of the Six Day War came the return to Mount Scopus and the original Hadassah Hospital.

A sign belonging to the "Photograph in Stone" series. In this series, which is located mainly in the center of Jerusalem, historical buildings, prominent figures in the city’s history and more are commemorated.

Despite what is written on the sign, after the War of Independence it was agreed that Mount Scopus would be a demilitarized zone, with a limited Israeli presence of police and staff. Once every two weeks a supply convoy ascended the mountain continuously until the Six Day War.
