Translation of the text on the sign:
[The text in English is significantly shorter than the text in Hebrew, below is a translation of the Hebrew text]
Built in 1922 by the Gharbadian family, a magnificent two-story house set in a large garden. The family members lived on the ground floor. The top floor was leased to Mustafa al-Khaldi, the Mandatory mayor of Jerusalem from 1944-1938, after his cousin Hussein al-Khaldi. In 2007, Prof. Ariel Hirschfeld, who lives there, established a "secret garden" in the Italian Renaissance style to commemorate the memory of his partner, Batya Gur.
