יִשְרָאֵל חַיִּים טַביוֹב
1920-1858

איש חינוך, מחזאי, סופר ומתרגם, חוקר לשון ופולקלור. פעל בעיקר בריגה שבאימפריה הרוסית (כיום לטביה). במסגרת פעילותו החינוכית ניהל בעיר ריגה "חדר מתוקן" שבו לימדו בשפה העברית, חיבר ספרי לימוד בעברית והוציא לאור עיתון יומי עברי מנוקד לילדים בשם "החבר" (1910-1908). בין מחקריו - "אוצר המשלים והפתגמים" שהתפרסם ב־1919.

The Haskalah Avenues are named after the Haskalah movement (Jewish Enlightenment)
whose details can be found on the next sign Click for sign's details. The small streets located between Sderot HaHaskala and Bitzeron Street are named after the main figures in the movement.

Israel Chaim Tawiow
1858-1920

Educator, playwright, writer and translator, researcher of language and folklore. He worked mainly in Riga in the Russian Empire (now Latvia). As part of his educational activities, he managed a "corrected room" in the city of Riga where he taught in the Hebrew language, wrote textbooks in Hebrew and published a daily Hebrew newspaper for children called "The Friend" (1908-1910). Among his studies - "The Treasury of Complements and Proverbs" published in 1919.
Earned a living from accounting and teaching.
