מתחם הפועל חולון, הבריכה, האצטדיון והקיוסק של טוביה
מתחם הספורט הוקם בקצה המערבי של קריית עבודה, בהתאם לתוכנית הבנייה ההיסטורית של קרית עבודה מ-1936. המבנה הראשון שהוקם במתחם היה בריכת השחייה, שפעלה במקום בין השנים 2006-1948. הבריכה שימשה כבריכת השחייה העירונית, ונודעה גם בשם ’בריכת הפועל’ או ’הבריכה הלימודיתי.
אצטדיון הספורט (’אולם הפחים’) הוקם ב-1953 כמגרש כדורסל מרוצף ופתוח, והיה בו יציע היקפי בן חמש שורות. בשנות ה-סל הורחב המבנה והוסב לאולם סגור ומקורה, בסגנון ברוטליסטי, ובכך היה לאחד האצטדיונים המקורים הראשונים בארץ.
אצטדיון זה שימש כאצטדיון הכדורסל הראשון של ’הפועל חולון’ (עד לשנת 2015).
צמוד למגרש הכדורגל ולאצטדיון הכדורסל פעל ’מוסד’ ידוע ומוכר בעיר - "הקיוסק של טוביה", שהיווה מקום מפגש למבוגרים ונוער. טוביה פרישברג (1999-1910), היה עובד ’סולל בונה’, שיזם והקים את הקיוסק ב-1958, מאבני סיליקט אדומות.

The Hapoel Holon complex, the pool, the stadium and Tovia’s kiosk
The sports complex was built at the western end of Kiryat Avoda, in accordance with the historical construction plan of Kiryat Avoda from 1936. The first building erected in the complex was the swimming pool, which operated there between 1948-2006. The pool was used as the municipal swimming pool, and was also known as the ’Hapoel pool’ or the ’learning pool’.
The sports stadium (’the bin box’) was established in 1953 as a paved and open basketball court, and it had a five-row peripheral stand. In the 1980s, the building was expanded and converted into a closed and covered hall, in a brutalist style, thus becoming one of the first indoor stadiums in Israel.
This stadium served as the first basketball stadium of Hapoel Holon (until 2015).
Adjacent to the football field and the basketball stadium was a well-known and recognized ’institution’ in the city - "Tovia’s Kiosk", which was a meeting place for adults and youth. Tovia Frishberg (1910-1999), was a ’Solel Bone’ worker, who initiated and built the kiosk in 1958, from red silicate stones.
