Sign-O-Pedia: Wells and pools

About the tag

Well

A facility created with the purpose of raising groundwater to the ground so that it is accessible to humans.
Water wells have existed since the dawn of history , , , and were usually established immediately upon the establishment of a new settlement, to provide water to the settlement (in modern times, there is often no need for a well and the water is transported through pipes from distant water sources).

The pumping of water from the well can be done manually (the most basic form is a bucket tied to a rope), an Saqiyah well (Persian wheel, tablia) (the name of the well was given to it after the receptacles, which were filled with well water and emptied into the storage pond) which were usually operated by animals , , or by human powered pumps , wind , fuel electricity, or another form of energy.
