The Pool
In 1954, the Memorial Plaza was built and within it this modest ornamental pool.
During the years 1955-1966, at the initiative and under the patronage of Dr. Vera Weizmann, the pool served other purposes.
It was used by the Israel Foundation for Infantile Paralysis (Ilan) as part of a summer camp program for the rehabilitation and enjoyment of children afflicted with polio.
Upon the death of Vera Weizmann, the pool lay neglected and unnoticed for years.
In 2002, it was cleaped and restored, and a memorial garden planted nearby.
