בית כהן - וילה שרת
הבית, בלב שכונת תל בנימין ההיסטורית, נבנה בשנת 1933 על-ידי יהודית (בת משפחת שלוש ממייסדי אחוזת בית, תל אביב) וחירם (היינריך) כהן, שהיה ’מוכתר’ השכונה, בנקאי וממייסדי שבט צופי רמת-גן. הבית תוכנן על ידי האדריכלית ג’ניה אוורבוך, מחלוצות הסגנון הבין לאומי ומן הנשים הראשונות באדריכלות בארץ ישראל.
לאחר קום המדינה רכשה ממשלת ישראל את הבית ממשפחת כהן כמשכן למשה שרת ומשפחתו, בתקופת כהונתו כשר החוץ הראשון, עד למינויו כראש ממשלה ב-1954. הבית הושכר לממשלת איטליה ושימש מעון השגריר האיטלקי עד 1988. בתקופת מגוריו של השגריר שופץ הבית.
כיום המבנה וגינתו הרחבה בבעלות עיריית רמת גן ומיועד למטרות ציבוריות ייצוגיות. הבית והגינה מיועדים לשימור בשל ערכיהם האדריכליים, ההיסטוריים, הנופיים והתרבותיים.

COHEN HOME SHARETT VILLA
The house was built in Tel Binyamin neighborhood in 1933 for Yehudith Chelouche (one of the founding families of Tel Aviv) and Hiram (Heinrich) Cohen, businessmen and founder of the Ramat Gan Scouts group. Residence of the first Foreign Minister of Israel, Moshe Sharett, who moved to Jerusalem with his appointment in 1954 as Prime Minister. Residence of Italy’s ambassador until 1988. Nowadays property of Ramat Gan municipality. Planned for preservation due to its architectural, historical and cultural values.

The sign is rectangular but its head is designed according to the silhouette of the old building of the Gymnasia Herzliya, which serves as a logo of the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel
