As
Françoise Sagan
(1935-2004)

Paris by day, Paris by night for Françoise Sagan, the city has several faces. Noisy, "noisy", it offers in the early morning, when the Saint-Germain-des-Prés nightclubs close and the last dancers leave the sidewalks, the possibility of an anonymous and inspiring wandering. Its her adopted city, which she crisscrosses without getting carried away, especially the banks of the Seine. In the evening, the author takes refuge in her apartments on the Left Bank and, from the depths of her bed, she writes, nourishing herself with the calm of her den, before returning, in the evening, to the agitation of the parties and bebop that punctuate the neighborhood. Socialite Paris, Paris of solitude: even if the city appears in her writings, Sagan will remain one of its most chic and free representatives.
