תר"ג-תרצ"ו 1843-1935

נולד בליטא. בשנת 1877 הצטרף לקבוצת הוגי הרעיון ליסוד פתח תקווה, באחד מנסיונותיו להתיישב בארץ ישראל. בשנת 1884 ייצג ברנט את המושבה בוועידה של ארגוני חובבי ציון בקטוביץ (ועידת קטוביץ). פעל רבות לגיוס כספים לטובת המושבה. בשנת 1885 בנה את בית האבן הראשון בפתח תקווה.

Zerah Barnett
1843-1935

Born in Lithuania. In 1877, he joined the group of idea-founders in Petah Tikva, in one of his attempts to settle in Israel. In 1884, Brent represented the colony at a conference of the Hovevei Zion organizations in Katowice (Katowice Conference). Work hard to raise money for the colony. In 1885 he built the first stone house in Petah Tikva.
