תרי"ח-תש"ח 1858-1948

נולד בהונגריה. עלה לארץ ישראל בשנת 1875 והתיישב בירושלים. בראשית תרל"ט (שלהי 1878), הצטרף לקבוצת רוכשי אדמות פתח תקווה ולחופרי הבאר הראשונה במושבה.
בחנוכה תרל"ט, דצמבר 1878, חרש יחד עם אביו אלעזר את התלם הראשון באדמת המושבה.
עמד בראש השמירה במושבה, והיה שותף להנהגת פתח תקווה עד סוף ימיו.

Translation of the text on the sign:
Yehuda Rab
1858-1948

Born in Hungary. Immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1875 and settled in Jerusalem. In late 1878, he joined the group of purchasers of Petah Tikva land and the first well diggers in the colony.
In Chanukah, December 1878, together with his father Elazar, he plowed the first furrow in the colony’s land.
Headed the guard in the colony, and was a partner in the leadership of Petah Tikva for the rest of his life.
