טנק שרמן אם-51 פותח בשיתוף פעולה צרפתי-ישראלי על בסיס טנק אם 4 אי 1 האמריקאי. בטנק הותקן תותח צרפתי ארוך בקוטר 105 מ"מ, מנוע דיזל אמריקאי ומזקו"ם עם זחל רחב. הטנק נטל חלק בקרבות במלחמת ששת הימים ביהודה ושומרון, ברמת הגולן ובסיני. הטנק השתתף במלחמת יום הכיפורים ואף השמיד טנקים חדישים מסוג טי 62.

The M-51 Sherman was developed through French-Israeli collaboration, based on the American M4A1. A long, 105 mm, French cannon was installed in the tank, as were an American Diesel engine and a wider track. This tank served in the Six Day War in Judea and Samaria, on the Golan Heights and in Sinai. The M-51 Shermans also participated in the Yom Kippur War and destroyed new T-62 tanks in battle.
