Sequoia sempervirens

Coast Redwood
Sequoia sempervirens

Natural range: California coast

In California, these grow to be the world’s tallest tree (over 110 meters - 5 times taller than the one seen here, and 5-6 times taller than the tallest known dinosaurs). This is Israel’s oldest coast redwood, planted in the 1950’s

[a question]
Does this giant tree species also have giant cones with giant seeds? See their cones on the branches or on the ground.(Please do not pick cones from the tree.)

[The fourth face of the cube]

[The Answer to the question]
Difficult to find, this big tree’s cones are only about the size of an olive. Each cone contains about 50 tiny seeds. From such tiny beginnings, the earth’s tallest trees can grow!
