House of Industry
The "House of Cooperative Industry", the only one in the areas of Kiryat Avoda, was established at the end of the thirties of the last century, by the Histadrut Shikon company, in an attempt to provide a solution to the employment and economy of the nearby Kiryat Avoda.
The four-story building was built of white silicate bricks and housed 26 cooperatives, including: carpentry, small metal factories, printing houses, bookbinding workshops, and more.
In those days, Holon’s large industrial area was in the vicinity of Agrobank, on both sides of Shenkar Street. Today, the building is used by the Holon Institute of Technology, established in 1969.
