Natural range: Nepal to Afghanistan

Three of the world’s four cedar types (species) shade this garden (trees 16, 17 Click for sign's details, 18). All cedar (Cedrus) trees are from the eastern hemisphere/ The Himalayan has the brightest color and the longest needles of any cedar.
This tree died, and was replaced by this small one of the same species, in 2019.

Even the relatively long needles of this cedar species are much shorter than those of pines. Also, there are many more cedar needles per bundle than in pines count them.
